VIEWPOINT RV RESORT I received this message from Barbara Rees on August 17: I will not be doing anything about the Thursday or Friday bridge until October.
SUN LAKES Opening day is May 1st, 9 AM. There is a link to their website under the "Links" tab above. Procedures are shown in "read more" below. Check back for updates. See Sun Lakes full schedule under "Clubs" tab.
GOOD NEWS: Barring unforeseen events, Sun Lakes will reopen WITH RESTRICTIONS for Face-to-Face (F2F) play at Risen Savior Lutheran Church on Saturday May 1 with a start time of 9:00am. Assuming sufficient attendance, we will hold both a 0-499 game and an Open game on May 1 and subsequent Saturdays.
DO NOT COME TO BRIDGE IF YOU ARE SICK! SUN LAKES WILL WELCOME ALL PLAYERS WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA.
Please read on for important information.
PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST SESSION, ALL IN ATTENDANCE WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW PROOF OF COVID VACCINATION OR MEDICAL EVIDENCE OF TREATMENT WITH MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES OR CONVALESCENT PLASMA ON A SPECIFIC DATE THAT IS LESS THAN 90 DAYS PRIOR. (PLEASE SEE FOOTNOTE 1) AND SIGN A LIABILITY WAIVER. THIS REQUIREMENT IS NON-NEGOTIABLE AND IN FORCE UNTIL RESCINDED BY THE CLUB BOARD, SO DO NOT REQUEST AN EXCEPTION BECAUSE YOU FORGOT TO BRING YOUR DOCUMENT OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON. A LEGIBLE MOBILE PHONE IMAGE OF THE CERTIFICATE IS ACCEPTABLE. A RECORD WILL CREATED UPON INITIAL PRESENTATION OF EVIDENCE SO THAT IT WILL ONLY BE NECESSARY TO DO SO ONCE. Evidence will be viewed and recorded by a volunteer board or club member at the door.
BRING YOUR NAMETAG IF YOU CAN FIND IT; WE WILL MARK IT WITH PROOF OF VACCINATION FOR FUTURE GAMES.
WITH EVERYONE VACCINATED OR IMMUNE, THE WEARING OF MASKS WILL BE VOLUNTARY AND A MATTER OF PERSONAL CHOICE. Every vaccinated individual must take personal responsibility by deferring F2F attendance until completely comfortable that participation is safe. If you are unwilling or unable to be vaccinated, the Board regrets that you will not be eligible for F2F play indefinitely. DO NOT PARTICIPATE IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO ACCEPT ANY AND ALL RISK ASSOCIATED WITH DOING SO.
Beginning May 1, the weekly game schedule will be as follows until further notice.
Monday 1:30pm Open - Director Tor Thorsen
Tuesday 1:30pm 0-499 and Open – Dir. Tor Thorsen
Thursday 8:15am 0-99 – Dir. Maria Davis

Friday 12:50pm 0-750 – Dir. Tor Thorsen 808-498-8115
Except for Thursday morning, the doors will typically open 45 minutes prior to game time. Please arrive early, especially if you need to have your COVID credentials checked.
In view of the upcoming partial calendar year of operations and uncertainty about attendance, the Board has made the following decisions.
- 2021 club dues will be considered paid up for all 2020 Sun Lakes club members. New members joining before November 1 will be assessed $10.00 entry fee to cover nametag expense. There will be no 2021 club directory published and no 2021 appointment books purchased by the club. Updated 2021 directory information will be posted on the club website (bridgewebs.com/sunlakes). Annual directory printing and appointment book purchasing will resume for 2022.
- F2F Game entry fees will be $7.00 for members $8.00 for non members. BBO entry fees will be increased to $6.00. The Board will reassess amounts for 2022 dues and entry fees as our financial situation becomes less uncertain.
New bidding boxes with new bidding cards have been purchased. The old bidding boxes with used bidding cards will be made available to Sun Lakes members without charge. Anyone with a preference for a personal bidding box is welcome to “personalize” one of the OLD bidding boxes to carry table to table. The new bidding boxes are not to be removed from the church building.
In the interest of sanitation, the Board has voted to prohibit food consumption inside the church hall. There will be the normal beverage service. All beverage containers are required to be in containers with lids. In order to limit damage caused by spills, there will be placards made available to be placed on the closest table to any spill so that the custodian can deal with the remnants of the spill right after the game. This does not excuse the requirement for the person responsible for the spill to clean it up immediately as much as possible. Anyone with a medical requirement for nutrition during a game should arrange to bring a nutritional beverage in a closed container.
Footnote 1: Anyone whose initial eligibility is based on TREATMENT WITH MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES OR CONVALESCENT PLASMA will be required to be vaccinated WITHIN 100 DAYS OF SUCH TREATMENT to maintain eligibility. We understand that persons who have been so treated are advised (by the CDC) to wait 90 days after such treatment to be vaccinated.
Changes to the foregoing plan and information will be made if deemed necessary due to future circumstances.
